7 Ideas for the Fitness Lover on Your Holiday Gift List

FacebookXPinterestEmailEmailEmailShare

If you have a fitness lover in your family or friends, check out this list of gift ideas from a wide variety of fitness genres. There are gifts for everyone (including yourself), no matter whether they're interested in bodybuilding, military-style training yoga or more calisthenics-based training.

We are posting our list well before the holidays due to likely delays in shipping this year.

TRX Suspension Trainer

You can't start off one of these lists without considering the most revolutionary fitness product of the 21st century: the TRX Suspension Trainer. The TRX is the only thing you need when you cannot get to the gym. It's also great for travel, since it is very easy to pack and carry with you.

I still take it to the gym after using it for a decade, as there are some exercises that I just prefer to do with the TRX. You can make calisthenics much harder with this device, but you also can scale back and make any exercise easier, simply by changing the angle of your body.

Fitness Clothes

Nothing says "time to train" more than memorial T-shirts like the Murph Challenge. There are many options out there, but make sure you find the ones that donate to veteran organizations or are sold by the official nonprofit associated with the memorialized veteran.

Music Accessories

If you are enjoying group training and want to add your playlist to the training area, get a bluetooth speaker like these from JBL Speakers. For every outdoor workout we do near our favorite group of pull-up bars in the park, someone pulls out their playlist and speakers to get the party started.

If you need to be less noisy, earbuds can keep your playlist to yourself. There are many options and price ranges to choose from, but check out this list of ideas.

Adjustable Standing Desk

As much as your fitness lover wants to train all day, most of us must go to work sometime. Consider an adjustable standing desk for a work or home office that allows you to adjust the height when you prefer to stand or sit at the computer.

Having an adjustable desk allows the user to mix it up, so no one will have to sit all day or stand all day in front of a computer. A healthy mix of sitting and standing spread throughout the day will allow the user to burn more calories at work and help prevent stiffness after leg day. I personally use the 31" standing desk made by Ivation.

Good Smoothie Machines

If you are adding a smoothie to your day as a meal replacement or as a snack between meals if you need to add more healthy calories to your day, consider the Nutribullet. These are easier to clean than blenders and ideal for the quick shake for those on the go.

Protein Powders and Shakers

If you are looking for a really good protein powder that is considered a food and not a supplement, check out Ascent Protein powders. This protein mixes so well that you do not even need a blender.

A shaker cup is all you need, and that's also another great gift idea for your fitness lover. You can find shaker cups in grocery and health-food stores. You can even get them personalized online, using a variety of online stores. BlenderBottle.com offers both options.

Massage Tools

There are many tools out there that vibrate and can help relieve the aches and pains from hard training. The HyperIce website is full of top-notch vibrating foam rollers, massage guns and other tools to help with self-massaging sore muscles and joints. I have had both the Hypervolt and HyperIce Roller gifted to me over the years and use them quite regularly.

However, one of my personal favorite and inexpensive devices is an orbital car buffer that vibrates within a therapeutic range for a fraction of the price of typical massage tools. If you find that you do not like it for any massaging needs, you can use it for your car.

The Ryobi Orbital Car buffer was a gift I sent to nearly all of my family members after they visited for Thanksgiving, since they used it nearly the entire day. One member went to the hardware store the next day and bought one on Black Friday for $25. Check out CPOoutlets.com for great refurbished power tools for other gift ideas. You can find orbital car buffers for less than $20.

These gifts are a no-nonsense list that your fitness lover may enjoy. If the fitness fan on your gift list prefers useful items to fancy ones, these gifts can make training funner, healthier and easier to take on the road.
