Precise download size details for Battlefield 6 have finally been revealed, and they're surprisingly modest given the game's scope. PC players now have a clear idea of what to expect ahead of Battlefield 6 pre-loads going live later this week.

AAA game file sizes have ballooned to staggering levels in recent years due to a concerted push for higher graphical fidelity, larger maps, and more complex gameplay systems. This means players often have to dedicate hundreds of gigabytes to single games, with newer Call of Duty games being one of the most notorious examples of this phenomenon. Many expected Battlefield 6 — EA's latest Call of Duty rival — to be a heavyweight in the file size department too, given that it's one of the most ambitious entries in the franchise.
Battlefield 6 File Size on PC is Just Under 76 GB
However, Battlefield 6's file size is very much on the smaller side, at least relative to other AAA first-person shooters. According to download options in the EA App shared by Twitter user Battlefield Intel, Battlefield 6 will weigh in at 75.97 GB on PC overall. This figure comprises the base game, which requires just 48.88 GB of space, above which players can opt to add Battlefield 6's multiplayer content (5 GB), single-player mode (15 GB), and their respective HD packs at 423 MB and 7 GB. Therefore, the Battlefield 6 single-player content comes in at 22 GB total, while the multiplayer requires just under 5.5 GB of space with the HD pack.

Battlefield 6 file sizes for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S have yet to be confirmed, but they could be even smaller than those for PC. Considering the excellent graphical fidelity and detailed destruction mechanics in Battlefield 6, its diminutive file size is undoubtedly impressive. For perspective, 2024's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 requires over 100 GB of storage space on PC, and this may be the case with the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 too. EA and Battlefield Studios previously spoke about a much greater emphasis on optimization for Battlefield 6, so it wouldn't be surprising if a relatively modest file size was one of the team's targets.

With Battlefield 6 pre-loads set to begin on Friday, October 3 and the game's full launch slated for October 10, there's a lot of anticipation for EA's latest and greatest in the first-person shooter space. Impressions from beta weekends and previews suggest that Battlefield 6 is a proper return to form for the franchise, and the most serious competitor to Call of Duty in years.
