Nat Geo's 'Drain the Oceans' Set to Explore American War HistoryNational Geographic Channel's "Drain the Oceans" continues its third season on June 2 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT with "Drain the American Revolution." The series also includes "Drain Raiders of the Civil War" on June 9 and "Drain the Last Wrecks of WWII" on June 16.

"Drain the Oceans" is a documentary series that locates historical wrecks and uses state-of-the-art digital technology to create simulations that appear to drain the water away from the wrecks and allow for a close-up inspection by scientists and viewers.

The upcoming "Drain the American Revolution" episode features an examination of the

British ship HMS Ontario, and we've got a clip of the ship's digital reveal from the episode.

His Majesty's Ship Ontario sank during a Lake Ontario storm on Halloween 1780 on a trip from Fort Niagara, New York, to Oswego, New York. She was built on Carleton Island, a British base during the war and now a part of New York state. The Ontario sailed for only five months after launch before her demise took 80 crew down with the ship.

HMS Ontario was discovered virtually intact on the lake bed in 2008, and "Drain the Oceans" explores the ship's history and utilizes computer simulations to offer a closer look at the wreck.

Previous episodes this season have included "Pirate Ships of the Caribbean" and "Egypt's Sunken City." "Drain the Oceans" is available to stream on Disney+.
