April is designated as the Month of the Military Child. Throughout the month, "military brats" are recognized for the sacrifices they make because they have a parent in the military.

As we celebrate the Month of the Military Child, check out the following military discounts that are perfect for kids and their families.

1. Disney

Disney World is the happiest place on earth! It's even better because of Disney’s Military Salute program. Military personnel can get discounted tickets to Disney theme parks, as well as discounts off select rooms at Disney Resort hotels. These deals are good for military spouses of eligible service members even without the member being present.

2. Amusement parks

Disney isn't the only amusement park that offers military discounts. Other fun parks like LEGOLAND and Universal Studios help military families out with deals as well. If you have an amusement park in your area, call ahead, check the park’s website, or visit your local ITT office on base to ask what kinds of military discounts they offer and what you need to do to take advantage of them.

3. Crafts

Whether art supplies are needed for fun craft projects or for school assignments and supplies, military families can stock up using military discounts at Jo-Ann Fabric, and Michaels.

4. Zoos and Aquariums

Many zoos throughout the country, like the San Diego Zoo in California and Zoo Atlanta in Georgia, offer military discounts on admission prices. You can also find deals for military families at aquariums like the Birch Aquarium in San Diego and the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland.

5. National Parks

Most national parks don't have an entrance fee, but for those that do, fees are waived on designated free entrance days. Service members and their families are also eligible for the America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Pass for free, a pass that's normally $80. The pass allows free admission for a year at sites that charge entrance or standard amenity fees.

6. Academic Help

Military families are eligible for free access to the Department of Defense online tutoring program with Tutor.com. Students needing a little extra help with homework and studying can ask a professional tutor anytime they need it.

Tastes and fashion change, and of course, kids grow. So new clothes and shoes are always necessities. To help keep wardrobes up-to-date, use military discounts at a variety of stores, including Old NavyL.L.BeanWranglerUnder ArmourCrocsNike and Reebok.

8. Movies

Movie theaters like Regal and Cinemark offer discounted tickets for the military. Keep in mind the discount may vary by location and time of day. For instance, some theaters may not offer a discount on matinees, but do offer one at an evening showing.

9. Chuck E. Cheese's

The cool hangout for kids Chuck E. Cheese's salutes the military by offering a choice of two different package deals for pizza, drinks and play points.
