The Marine Corps Uniform Board seeks active-duty and Reserve Marines’ feedback on three uniform-related issues. This comes ahead of a decision memorandum that will be sent to the Marine Corps commandant in the late fall.
A survey was sent to sergeants major across the Corps Oct. 14 to be distributed to Marines. Feedback on the survey is sought through Oct. 25.
The three issues being decided include the adoption of universal, unisex dress and service caps; authorization for female Marines to wear partial multiple braids, or microbraids, in uniform; and a modification to the existing supplemental clothing allowance.
“Marines are asked to vote using the ‘Individual Marine Voting Worksheet’ provided electronically to designated command representatives,” said Mary Boyt, Marine Corps Uniform Board representative at Marine Corps Systems Command. “Marines who did not receive a survey but would like to participate should contact their sergeants major before the deadline.”
The completed surveys will be consolidated and sent to the Uniform Board by the designated command representatives by Oct. 25. The uniform board is scheduled to meet Oct. 29.
