New Parent Support Program (NPSP) is a home-based program to provide military families with the skills needed for a happy and healthy childrearing experience. Families are primarily seen and provided support in their homes. The family can receive visits from a Registered Nurse who can assist with prenatal, breastfeeding, and postpartum issues. The NPSP Team provides education on newborn, infant, child behavior, child care, growth, and development. Support can also be provided for other family and/or health-related topics, including parent-child bonding and communication, positive discipline and adjustment to parenthood, including single parenting and parenting during deployment. The NPSP Team refers families to a variety of other community (military and civilian) resources. Military families expecting the birth or adoption of a baby and families with children aged birth through 3 years old are eligible.
