He was previously a national news and investigative reporter for Newsweek, focusing on U.S. and international politics, military/defense, immigration, crime, social issues and features over a four-year period. Other coverage included education, business, and news on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza. He has received numerous awards for his reporting, including original coverage of the opioid epidemic that garnered a statewide Michigan Press Association award. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.
