U.S. Force of Additional Warplanes, Ships, Troops Remain in Middle East Prepared if Conflict Expands

    The U.S. has kept an increased military presence in the Middle East throughout much of the last year, and has about 40,000 U.S. forces spread across the region including at least a dozen warships, according to several U.S. officials. (Sep. 19) AP
