"Tora Tora Tora" - Trailer
Released 25 years after the Japanese surrender, this epic tells the story of the Pearl Harbor attacks from both the American and Japanese perspectives. There were two parallel screenplays, two directors and two separate shoots. The American story was directed by Richard Fleischer and the Japanese scenes were originally to be helmed by Akira Kurosawa, but he left after a couple of weeks of shooting. There are definitely issues with planes and ships and historical accuracy, but the film was one of the first to acknowledge the Japanese perspective on the war. Forgive the gear, enjoy the spectacle.
