Generals Fired for Failure to Defend
The US Marine Corps has fired two generals for not adequately preparing and defending a base in southern Afghanistan. Maj. Gen. Charles M. Gurganus was the top Marine commander in southern Afghanistan and Maj. Gen. Gregg A. Sturdevant was the senior Marine aviation officer when the Taliban attacked Camp Bastion last year, resulting in the deaths of two Marines and the destruction of most of a squadron of US fighter jets. RT's Meghan Lopez has more on the first time the Marine Corps has fired generals since the Vietnam War.
