Superyacht Sinks, Rescue Ensues

U.S. Coast Guard video. The superyacht Serena III sank on 13 nautical miles off Lauderdale-by-the-Sea in Broward County, Florida. The yacht started getting water ingress off Fort Lauderdale in Atlantic Ocean due to unknown reason. According to the witness evidence at some moment the vessel’s bow was on 12.00 m above the water. The crew and passengers tried to pump out the water from the flooded compartments, but without success and sent distress signal to the local authorities and Coast Guard. At the scene of the accident were dispatched two rescue boats, who evacuated all the 13 passengers without any injuries or medical concerns. The salvage attempts were unsuccessful and the vessel was remained adrift in north direction, sinking on 13 nautical miles off Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.
