A free customer experience management course available this month could help military members, veterans and their families train for a new career and receive their Operational Customer Experience Management Certification.
The course, offered through the Department of Veterans Affairs and Medallia, a customer experience management company based in San Francisco, is aimed at teaching students customer experience skills.
Customer experience (CX) is not traditional customer service, but rather the end-to-end interaction an individual has with any given company.
A customer service manager oversees a company's ability to anticipate and adapt to changing customer needs while reaching customers through all channels, providing service before, during and after a sale. Good CX managers can see trends in social media postings, customer interactions and sales to adapt to changing markets and help companies reach higher profits and gain and retain their customer base.
The demand for CX experts across all industries has been increasing for years, and many CX positions are remote, allowing CX professionals to work from home. According to Monster.com, the average CX manager salary in the United States is more than $66,000.
"Veterans are proven problem solvers, and their talents are perfect for the customer experience discipline," Lee Becker, Medallia's solutions principal, said in a news release. "Customer experience is to truly understand and find the best solutions from your customer's perspective."
Those interested in receiving the Medallia CX management certification must first attend an introductory webinar on Nov. 19, 2020, at 2 p.m. ET to learn the foundations of customer experience.
After attending the webinar, attendees can sign up for the CX course and certificate program. This self-paced online training is estimated to require about 20 hours to complete.
