Summer is coming, and the commissary has several programs that are busier during the summer. One of these programs is their Guard and Reserve Sales, which I call Remote Location Sales. These sales are where the staff of a bricks and mortar commissary store loads up a truck with commissary products and takes it to a location that is remote from a regular commissary. They are often National Guard or reserve locations, from which the name comes. However, these sales are open to all eligible commissary patrons, including retirees, reservists, National Guardsmen, and active duty families who don't live near a military installation.
Here are the May dates. The hyperlink in each listing takes you to the webpage for the sponsoring commissary store. I strongly suggest that you call the sponsoring store to verify the exact location and the times. It'd be awful to make a special trip and find out the sale had been postponed or the times had changed.

I've never been to one of these sales, as we've always lived near a base or somewhere so remote that these sales don't happen. I imagine that they're similar to commissary case lot sales. If you've been, I would love to learn more about them. Did you find there to be a good selection and prices? Was it too busy to be bearable? Was it worth a special trip? Your answers can help other readers make good choices, so thanks!
