Thousands of mobilized reservists and National Guard members should begin receiving pay for post-deployment leave taken after long deployments. The military members were entitled to the paid leave for deployments that lasted more than a year and ended after January 19, 2007. However, members who returned home between that date and August 18, 2007, did not receive the payment because the details hadn't been organized yet. The complete AP press release can be found here at Military.com, and an excellent article and discussion about the program can be found at You Served, Post Deployment/Mobilization Respite Absence.
