Company Restores Datsun 240Zs To Incredibly Exact Factory-New Condition

The world of high-dollar vehicle restorations has expanded far beyond European classics and American muscle cars. There are now companies that specialize in bringing vintage Japanese cars back to their former glory. Netherlands-based S30.world is one such company, specializing in one particular vehicle: the Datsun 240Z. Some may know the 240Z as the Fairlady Z, the original Z sports car that kicked off the line back in 1969, eventually leading to the current 2026 Nissan Z.

The 240Z was also known by its chassis code, S30, which is where the shop gets its name. S30.world just announced the most exclusive restoration project ever for the 240Z, dubbed "The Masterpieces." The goal is the restore the cars to the exact same specification they left the production line over 50 years ago. That's no small task.

Insane Attention To Detail

Bringing a vehicle back to its original condition after decades of wear and tear takes an immense amount of skill and attention to detail. S30.world says it will not perform any color or interior changes, keeping all cars true to their original factory state. But this company redefines the word original. The true-to-form restoration goes far beyond what you can see.

"No expense or effort will be spared to achieve this peak level of quality."

– Chris Visscher, S30.world Founder

The restoration is so detailed, there aren't even any traces of welding or repair on the body shells, even to a trained eye. Each spot weld is applied exactly how Nissan did it in 1969, matching both in pattern and technique. Laying a good weld is one thing. But matching a specific look? That's on a completely different level of detail.

Takeo Miyazaki, a member of the original 240Z development team at Nissan, tested the first three completed vehicles from S30.world. After seeing them, he said they "truly brought him back in time and that he was amazed with the perfection in details."

You Can Buy The First Car

If you are a Nissan Z enthusiast with deep pockets, the first car from S30.world can be yours. The car will go up for auction on Bring-A-Trailer on October 23, 2025, 56 years after the 240Z was introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show. S30.world didn't choose that date by accident. In Japanese, the number 2 is pronounced "ni" and three is pronounced "san." Put them together, and you get Nissan. That's also why you see the number 23 appear so often on Nissan race cars.

"The commitment to quality and accuracy exhibited in these restorations is unsurpassed. I am excited to partner with S30.world and bring these special 240Z's to market," says Adam Eisenhauer, from Garage 44, the US firm coordinating the sale of the cars in the United States.

As for what the first car will sell for, we have no idea. But we wonder if this could break BAT's record selling price for a 240Z, which currently sits at $310,000 back in 2010 for a 21,000-mile 1971 Series 1.
