Today the House and Senate actually agreed on something - helping vets get jobs. That's right, the chairmen of the House and Senate reached bipartisan agreement on the Veterans Opportunity to Work Act of 2011. The bill will offer employer tax credits for hiring veterans, improve transition assistance, make it possible to apply for federal jobs before leaving the service, extend Montgomery GI Bill benefits for past era vets, and extends voc-rehab benefits, to name a few of the highlights. The bill, now known as the "VOW to Hire Heroes Act," will go back to the House for a vote.
