LAS VEGAS -- When Colt introduced its new double-action .38 revolver, the Cobra, in 2017, it touted the gun as ideal for concealed carry.
But this year, the company rolled out a .38 special successor with a stack of sleek new features for an even better concealed carry experience.
The Night Cobra is all black with a DLC finish. It has a textured VZ grip, making the gun easier to grab and hold. Unlike its predecessor, it has a bobbed, double-action-only hammer. The feature means the hammer won't catch on clothing when it's drawn and offers the user more control.
Darin Scott, commercial and law enforcement sales director for Colt, told Military.com that the streamlined design of the gun makes it less likely to "print" underneath clothing, keeping it truly concealed.

"The bobbed hammer does make it even more ideal for concealed carry than the original introduction to the Cobra," he said.
Introduced at SHOT Show, the Night Cobra retails for $899 -- the original Cobra costs $699 -- and will go into production in February, Scott said.
