Apex Tactical Specialties Inc. on Monday released a flat-faced forward set trigger kit for Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 models barely a month after introducing similar technology for the Glock Gen5.
While the Peoria, Arizona-based parts-maker known for its innovative work transforming striker-fired trigger systems had previously announced the product for M2.0 models, the kit actually went on sale today.
"Apex's patent pending trigger kit design for the M2.0 reduces overall trigger travel by 40% while delivering a crisp trigger break reminiscent of that in a single-action 1911 pistol," the release states.
The product is designed specifically for use in the M&P M2.0 and will work in all current models in 9mm, .40S&W and .45ACP calibers, including the recently released M2.0 Compact. It doesn't fit any other S&W models such as the Shield or SD9 VE.
The kit, which reduces trigger pull weight by up to two pounds, comes in black, though a thin blue line version is planned, according to the manufacturer.
It retails for about $170.
