James Warrick, sales director for Drifire, the leading provider of fire-resistant, water-wicking and antimicrobial garments to the U.S. military, showed off the company's products at this year's Air and Space Symposium near Washington, D.C.
The company's patented fiber called Fortrex includes Kevlar and other strong materials designed to self-extinguish when exposed to flames, he said.
"There's no need to worry about anytyhing washing out, it's permament into the garment," he said. "So as long as you take care of it, it takes care of you."
