The VA's Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) promotes business ownership and expansion for veterans. They provide resource assistance for veterans and service-disabled veterans who are considering starting or expanding a business. The staff works with all federal agencies, large contractors and not-for-profit assistance organizations.

Verification of Status as a Veteran Owned Small Business

The website allows veterans to register as a veteran owned small business and gain certification. Once certified, a small business is eligible for special consideration when bidding for work on federal, state and local contracts or services. Many private companies

Listing of Verified Firms

The website lists VA verified firms that are veterans owned businesses: Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) that are eligible for set-asides and sole source contracts. This can assist companies seeking to work with veteran-owned small businesses.

Training Assistance

OSDBU educates and trains veteran-owned and other small businesses on various topics specific to doing business within the federal and commercial marketplaces.
