Tricare's mail-order pharmacy is convenient and inexpensive way to have prescriptions you regularly take delivered directly to your front door.
You can be up and running with mail-order prescriptions in just 3 easy steps:
Step 1: Register to use Tricare's Mail Order Pharmacy.
Before you can fill a prescription using Tricare's mail order pharmacy you must create an account. You can do this online at the Express Scripts website or by using the Express Scripts app
Step 2: Ask your doctor to submit your prescription to Express Scripts electronically (e-Prescribe).
If you must begin a prescription medication right away, ask your provider to write two separate prescriptions for the same medication:
- A one-month supply for you to fill immediately at a local pharmacy;
- A long-term supply for you to fill through mail-order.
Note: While you wait for your mail-order shipment, begin taking the medication you obtained from the local retail network pharmacy.
Step 3: Allow about 14 days from the day Express Scripts receives your initial prescription to the time your medication arrives at your door.
Requirements for Beneficiaries Living Overseas
The Tricare Mail Order Pharmacy cannot mail prescriptions to any private foreign address. You cannot get any prescriptions shipped to Germany.
If you reside overseas, you must:
- Have an APO/FPO or U.S. Embassy address;
- Request that a U.S. licensed provider write your prescription.
Note: Express Scripts will not ship refrigerated medications overseas. If you require refrigerated medication, talk to your licensed overseas provider about alternatives.
