Online event will bring together potential students, non-profit educational institutions and provide advice on how to use military education benefits
McLean, Va – Military.com and CollegeWeekLive announced today they are joining forces to host a virtual college fair for service members and veterans on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 and are calling on colleges and universities to sign up to participate.
The event will feature non-profit educational institutions that offer both on-campus and online degree programs for those who want to use their military and veteran education benefits to further their education. The program will include live sessions with admissions representatives and expert advice on how to make the most of military and veteran education benefits. Guest speakers will offer advice and information on the unique experience military members have when transitioning from the service to getting their degrees.
Greg Smith, President of Military.com and retired Navy admiral said, "We worked closely with CollegeWeekLive to design an online event that best serves the needs of our military members and veterans. This program will give them unique access to colleges and universities all over the country who are eager to have them as students."
Unlike traditional students who often tour colleges before deciding on their institution of study, military members on active duty and veterans may not have the ability to visit these institutions in person. This event allows participants the chance to talk with admissions counselors to get a sense of what campus life will be like, and receive answers to their questions about financial aid and scholarship opportunities available to them.
"CollegeWeekLive's platform combined with Military.com's service member reach will change the way our military finds education opportunities," said Sumant Mauskar, President of CollegeWeekLive. "We are pleased to form this relationship to increase service members' access to universities around the country."
