Military.com Aligns with National Career Fairs to Strengthen Veteran Recruitment Efforts at 23 Job Fairs in 18 U.S. Cities
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Military.com, the leading military membership organization and subsidiary of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST), today announced a strategic relationship with National Career Fairs, one of the largest producers of recruiting events in the U.S. Beginning in February, the companies will host "Military.com Career Fairs," 23 events in 18 cities across the country with large transitioning military and veteran populations.
This relationship couples Military.com's expertise helping veterans advance their post-service careers with National Career Fairs' extensive experience producing first-class, face-to-face recruiting events. Each Military.com Career Fair will cater specifically to an audience of former servicemembers and feature Veteran Career Resource Guides for attendees, employment workshops focused on insider tips on leveraging military experience in the civilian marketplace and leveraging the extensive preparation resources on Military.com. Select workshops will be led by Vince Patton, the former Master Chief Petty Officer of the U.S. Coast Guard (retired) and Military.com's Director of Community Outreach.
"Military.com offers the largest veteran job board and unmatched tools to give former military personnel the best career opportunities available. Our military-to-civilian skills translator and veteran mentor network are innovations that have changed the playing field for veteran job seekers," said Tom Aiello, vice president at Military.com. "We will bring this same level of insight to Military.com Career Fairs."
Said Patton, "Military.com's mission is to help every veteran make the most of the time he or she spent serving our country. We are driven to make a difference in the lives of our members and this is just one example of how we will do everything within our power to assist them."
These programs will allow employers to balance their online approach to recruiting qualified applicants with high-touch methods designed to reinforce and supplement their talent pipelines. The employers gain an additional layer of visibility within their local market while attendees gain valuable insight and new job leads.
According to Bob Ravener, vice president of Partner Resources for Starbucks, "We already leverage Military.com as part of our national sourcing strategy and it is a reliable source for veteran talent. These career fairs will now give local hiring managers the opportunity to get face-to-face with a greater number of quality candidates."
Scott Lobenberg, president and founder of National Career Fairs, said, "My father had a career in the Air Force, and his experience taught us about integrity and service. By partnering with Military.com, we are bringing two industry leaders together to help thousands of veterans identify new career opportunities."
The first Military.com Career Fair will take place Monday, February 19 at the Doubletree Hotel Crystal City – National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. To pre-register, as well as view the 2007 event calendar and other details, please visit http://military.nationalcareerfairs.com/.
